About Music Shrink
Music Shrink provides useful advice for musicians and artists who want to make a living with their creativity.
I own the label Minty Fresh and am a former A&R rep for Geffen and BMG International. Artists I’ve worked with include the Cardigans, Cowboy Junkies, the Waterboys, Veruca Salt, Liz Phair, Tahiti 80, Ezra Furman & the Harpoons, soundtrack compilations such as Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and others. A children’s project, Ralph’s World, received a Grammy nomination in 2005.
Some artists have appeared on shows like “Saturday Night Live,” “the Late Show,” and “the Tonight Show.” Music from Minty Fresh is heard on shows such as “Grey’s Anatomy,” “One Tree Hill,” “the Sopranos,” “Six Feet Under,” iPod commercials for Apple, and more.
I live in Chicago with my wife and two sons where I frequently run along Lake Michigan, glue things for science projects, and enjoy a good craft beer – never simultaneously. I also create apps, enjoy home recording, and had fun writing a theme song for a kids show on PBS. As a guest lecturer, I frequently speak about the music business and creativity at seminars and conferences in the US and abroad.
